More Mature Nani
Sir Alex Ferguson has called for his number 17 to not only step up his game a level this season but to also take a more mature outlook to his game.
Quoted in the Manchester Evening News, Sir Alex Ferguson said: “Nani has gone through the same process all the young players do and you are looking for that jump up in performance level from the first season.”
Speaking about areas of improvement, Ferguson added: “His maturity should be better - which is important. He is still young, but when he develops he will be an outstanding talent. He has courage and speed, can play with both feet and does not melt in big atmospheres.”
“He is a very young 20. That immaturity showed itself against West Ham at the end of the season. That has cost us because he is missing for the first two games.
“But when he develops that he will be an outstanding talent. He has courage and speed, can play with both feet and does not melt in big atmospheres.”
Sir Alex decided to play Nani at Wembley because he is short of fitness and needed the run. Nani demonstarted more consistency in the Community Shield game however we will not see him play again for Manchester United until the Super Cup encounter with Zenit St Petersburg on August 29.
It is expected that he will play his first Premier League game at Liverpool a fortnight later.
