Nani Football is the ultimate fan site for the young Portuguese football star Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha, best known as Nani. The young player signed for Manchester United this season for a reported fee of £14.5 million from Sporting Lisbon. He follows in the footsteps of new team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo who signed from Lisbon in 2003. He plays as a winger and has already featured for Man Utd a number of times this season, scoring the winning goal against Spurs.

“Having Cristiano around has really helped me,” said the fellow Portuguese player.

“At the start, it was quite hard and I didn’t speak English at all. But when I didn’t understand something, he could tell me what has been said.

“I am very good friends with Cristiano and have been for a long time. But the entire squad gets on and now, I speak a little bit of English, we joke all the time.”

Nani wants double!

Nani is the latest Manchester Utd player to express his excitement at the current squad. Sir Alex Ferguson has already stated that he thinks it is his strongest ever team.

Although, never guaranteed a place in the starting 11, Nani is anxious to win the double in his first season at Utd. He is happy with his impact so far and has scored a couple of spectacular goals.

“I know it will be very difficult to win both trophies,” he said.

“But I also know it is is possible because Manchester United have a great team and a fantastic squad and we play good football.

Nani scores a spectacular 30 yard strike!

Nani scored an amazing 30 yard strike and set another up for Rooney as Manchester Utd win 4-1 against Middlesbrough. This is the 4th game in a row that Utd have scored 4 goals and they look on top form. The Rooney-Tevez partnership is developing very well, with both on the score sheet. Rooney scoring 1 and Tevez getting 2.

Nani now has 2 goals and 3 assists in the premiership. Both the goals have been stunning long range strikes. We look forward to more in the future.

Ferguson: “I didn’t realise Nani was this quick!”

The Manchester United boss has said the performances of summer signing Nani have been exceptional so far and he has settled in well.

Ferrguson said:

“From what we have seen of him so far there are some thing that you pick up after you have bought a player and that is he is quicker than I thought. He is very, very quick.

“He is also a marvellous crosser of the ball. He is absolutely superb with either foot at crossing a ball. There is great potential because he is only 20.

Nani gets assist in 1:0 win over Roma

Nani provided the assist in Man Utd’s Wednesday night win over Roma. They arrived in Manchester keen to avoid a similar fate to their last visit, in which they were beaten 7-1 in April. As a result, the Italians produced a far more sturdy performance, and the match was evenly contested.

However, on 70 mins Carrick found Nani and he cleverly played the ball through to Rooney who turned outside and found the net off the inside of the far post with a crisp 15-yard shot.

Nani starts against former club

He saw a shot deflected narrowly wide after 32 minutes, but then picked up a yellow card for a reckless challenge on Miguel Veloso.
