Nani recently spoke to the Manchester Evening News about his performances last season for Manchester United compared to this season. He said:
“Last season was good. I was pleased with my games and my contribution to the team.”
“This season I hoped it would be better. When I get my chances my aim is to do better than I did at the start of the season. I would like to play more times but it hasn’t been the same as last season.”

Man Utd 4 - Derby 2

Nani scored a cracker goal in the 16th minute to help cement Manchester United a place in the Carling Cup Final.
From distance, Nani swerved inside and unleashed a thunderbolt that gave the keeper no chance. Nani has been under pressure of late from some quarters, however hopefully this brilliant goal will silence some of his critics and ignite his confidence for the remainder of the season.
Nani picked up an injury but hopefully it is not too bad, however I will keep you posted when I found out more.

Nani played the full 90 minutes in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg clash with Derby, however he failed to create any real chances and was part of a Manchester United performance that the least said about it the better. It was not one of Nani’s better performances, however he was not the only United player that failed to ignite.
Sir Alex Ferguson summed up the performance when he said “We could have lost four goals so 1-0 is a great result for us and it gives us a fantastic chance now at Old Trafford.
“In any semi-final you hope to give yourself a bit of breathing space by winning the first leg but if we take any team back to Old Trafford with a one-nil deficit, we expect to overcome them. I’m sure we will (overcome Derby).”

Nani Scores From The Spot
Filed Under Man Utd, World Cup 2010 | Leave a Comment
Nani scored his fourth goal of the season as Manchester United had a comfortable 3-0 win at Southhampton to move into the next round of the FA Cup. Nani scored from the penalty spot.
Nani was used on the right wing for the first half, then switched to the left wing after halftime.
It was a Nani free kick that led to the penalty after his kick had struck the hand of McGoldrick. Nani executed the penalty well and sent the keeper the wrong way.
Nani continued to look dangerous and was unlucky when he hit the post later in the game. Overall, a pleasing perfomance from Nani and great to see him back on the park and in the scorers book.
