Nani in Champions League Final
Filed Under Champ. league | 2 Comments
Manchester United secured their third European Championship after a dramatic penalty shoot-out (6-5) over Chelsea after the scores were locked at 1-1 after 30 minutes of extra time.
Nani played a major role in helping Manchester United secure the Champions League crown for 2008.
Nani came on in the 101 minute to replace Wayne Rooney and his fresh legs enabled him to make some darting runs up the right hand side.
Nani was left bloodied and dazed after a head clash not long after he came on the field, however he continued to be a threat late in extra time.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s confidence in him was rewarded when Nani confidently stepped up to the mark and slotted his penalty shot passed Chelsea keeper Petr Cech.
Congratulations to Nani and all the Manchester United squad on winning the Champions League crown.

Nani Asks Forgiveness
Filed Under Man Utd | Leave a Comment
Nani has asked forgiveness for his actions during and after the game where he left before the end of the match.
“I want to publicly ask for forgiveness, firstly of my team-mates, who were forced into a greater effort during more than 60 minutes, secondly of my manager and coaches, and thirdly of the Manchester United fans who have given me so much affection.”
“Believe me, it was very difficult. At that moment I only wanted to disappear. And that was exactly what I did. And I also ask forgiveness of the fans and the club for that.
“As I left then, I didn’t have time to be with my team at the end. But on Tuesday I’ll be in the changing room to redeem myself for my mistake, that is to personally ask forgiveness for the act from my team-mates and manager and coaches.”

Nani Fined and Suspended For Headbutt
Filed Under Man Utd | 2 Comments
Sir Alex Ferguson was unhappy with Nani after being sent off for headbutting in Manchester United’s 4-1 win against West Ham yesterday.
As a result of a headbutt during the first half, the 21-year-old will receive a 60,000 pound fine in addition to missing the next three Premier League fixtures.
This means he will miss United’s potential title-clincher at Wigan next weekend, as well as the first two games of next season.
And Sir Alex Ferguson admits he was thoroughly disappointed in Nani’s actions, insisting the former Sporting man’s petulance tarnished an otherwise dominant display against the Hammers.
“The game was marred by the immaturity of Nani,” said the United boss. “He bought the challenge from their player and retaliated. He will learn from that.
“There is no excuse,” said the Scot. “He showed a measure of immaturity and we will deal with it.”
